[1] Amounts in the 1992 Conventions are expressed in the Special Drawing Right (SDR) of the International Monetary Fund. The SDR
is converted into the currency of the State where the pollution damage occurred on the basis of the appropriate exchange rate.
In this Manual, the conversion from Special Drawing Rights to US Dollars has been made using the rate of exchange applicable
on 1 September 2016, ie 1 SDR = US$1.397085. Up to date conversions may be found on the Organisation’s website.
